- Address: HMP High Down High Down Lane, Sutton, SM2 5JP
What does our service do?
The Progression PIPE offers a safe and supportive environment where residents can practice and strengthen the skills they have learned, in preparation for a progressive move. This is achieved through a planned set of activities designed to practice skills and demonstrate progress.
The PIPE aims to bring the outside, inside by enabling residents to undertake activities and form relationships that are more representative of life beyond prison.
Who is this service for?
The LD Progression PIPE is a residential service for 23 men with learning disability (IQ under 80 and/or significant neurodevelopmental difficulties) and personality difficulties. The service, which forms part of the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway, is designed to provide an opportunity to consolidate and practice skills gained through previous treatment, and for further skills development in preparation for a progressive move or release. The OPD pathway is designed to compliment and work alongside existing services. Residents continue to use the healthcare, education, work within the prison but also benefit from the Psychologically Informed Planned Environment (PIPE) which aims to support abilities to engage with the existing services and consolidate learning from previous treatment.
Sessions offered include:
- Socially Creative Sessions
- Structured Group Sessions
- Keywork sessions
- Skills development sessions
- Shared community activities
