05- Integrated Community Pathways Services (ICPS)

The ICPS is a team of psychological therapists, clinical practitioners and specialist probation practitioners providing both indirect and direct input to Probation Service London. ICPS practitioners provide consultation and training to probation staff working in Core Offender Management (CORE-OM). They also provide direct support within the Intensive Interventions Risk Management Service (IIRMS).
About This Service
Within the indirect service, ICPS practitioners offer individual and group consultations to all probation practitioners and support ongoing workforce development through regular training events. They further support psychologically informed risk management through joint casework with probation practitioners and people on probation.
Psychological therapists in the direct service develop comprehensive formulations and intervention plans in collaboration with people on probation. These guide stabilisation work delivered by clinical practitioners specialising in a range of areas linked to desistance such as housing and substance misuse. Clinical practitioners offer individual and group resettlement support tailored to the individual needs of people on probation. This incorporates practical, emotional and social support as well as psycho-educational groups, such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) skills training.
The enhanced provision offers a range of evidence-based interventions including Mentalization-Based Therapy to enhance psychological functioning and reduce risk of violence; trauma interventions, e.g. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprogramming (EMDR); and offence-focused work (e.g. Challenge programme for sexual offending).
Who We Support
The service supports people on probation screened onto the OPD pathway, and probation staff working with them.
How to Get This Service
ICPS practitioners are present in every probation office and available to offer consultation to probation practitioners.
All referrals to direct services are made via consultation with probation practitioners.
